In 2017, she became the Public Health and EMS Coordinator for the Central Iowa Healthcare Coalition. At the health department, Lynn was responsible for the Immunization Program and the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program. Lynn worked for Dallas County Health Department as a Public Health Nurse for 17 years. ![]() She obtained her NREMT certification in 1997 and Registered Nurse license in 2000. Lynn served in the United States Air Force and Iowa Air National Guard as a Flight and Operational Medic and retired in 2017. She is a longtime resident of Dallas County and brings a strong background in healthcare. Lynn joined the Dallas County Emergency Management Agency in 2023. Lynn Royer– Emergency Management Specialist AJ is recognized as an Iowa Certified Emergency Manager (IACEM) and an International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Certified Emergency Manager (CEM.) AJ is currently serving as the President of the Iowa Emergency Management Association (IEMA) and has a history of active involvement in state committees.ĪJ has been involved in numerous local incidents and six federally declared disasters since 2016 including 2016 Flooding, 2017 Flooding, 2018 Severe Storms, Tornadoes, Straight-line Winds and Flooding, 2019 Severe Storms and Flooding, 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic and the 2020 Iowa Derecho. Prior to serving in Dallas County, AJ also served for two years as Emergency Management and 911 Director for a county program in Northeast Iowa, where his responsibilities included the development of land-mobile radio system and operation of a technical rescue team. AJ obtained his Associates Degree in Fire Science and Bachelors Degree in Public Administration. AJ was appointed to lead the Dallas County Emergency Management Agency in 2018.ĪJ began his career in public safety, serving as a firefighter and paramedic.
